Transition Year Activities: Our Transition Year Students had a jammed packed first week back after the Easter break. On Tuesday 3 groups took part in a Barista workshop with Dublin Barista School. The groups thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and they loved learning how to make Lattes, Cappuccinos and Mochas. They enjoyed tasting them even more. On Tuesday a large group also had an excellent Road Safety talk delivered by one of the RSA education officers. On Friday 21st Francesca Bonin from Connecting Women in Technology presented a Digital Futures Session to TY students. Francesca works with IBM and is representing one of 20 organisations in the world of IT. Careers in IT are being promoted and the students enjoyed hearing about all the opportunities in the Digital World.
Ceist Student Conference: Members of our Student Council participated in the CEIST Student Leadership Conference on Wednesday, this was an excellent opportunity for the 6th year students to engage with students from different CEIST schools throughout Ireland. There were a number of Keynote speakers and students from various schools discussed initiatives and activities that happen within their school settings.
Well Done: Congratulations to all our 6th Years who completed their oral exams over the Easter break, they were treated to a breakfast morning on their return by their Yearhead Ms. Bould. They all enjoyed the chance to socialise on their return for their last term in St Josephs. Congratulations also to Jennifer Guest in 4A6 who won 5 gold medals competing in the British Kayaking Championship during the Easter.
Congratulations: A big congratulations to Robyn Higgins in Transition Year who had the big honour of meeting the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar in Government Buildings yesterday to speak to him about her experience as an autistic young person for World Autism Month, as a member of the AsIAm Youth Leadership Team.
