
Our AEN (Additional Educational Needs) Department is coordinated by Ms Ursula O’ Melia.

If you are concerned that your daughter is having difficulties in school in relation to her learning, please contact our AEN department who would be happy to assist.
If you are concerned that your daughter is having language difficulties in English, our EAL (English as an Additional Language) teacher is Ms Linda Menton.
The AEN department offer support to students in a variety of ways;

- Small group teaching

- Homework Club
- One to one teaching
- SNA assistance if necessary
- Tracking results and monitoring progress
- Career Guidance
- Advice on RACE & DARE applications
- Applications for Assistive Technology
Autism Special Class
St Joseph's College opened its first Autism Special Class in September 2024, and will open a second class in the new school year. The Autism Special Class, though working in partnership with the AEN department operates separately.
