Transition Year Work Experience: Well done to all of the students who completed their two-week block of work experience and a huge Thanks again to all of the businesses and organisations for allowing the students to gain this invaluable experience. Our teachers have been busy checking in on the students’ progress over the last week and the feedback has been extremely positive.

Mock Exams: Well done to all the students from 6th and 3rd year who have completed their Mock Exams over the last two weeks.

Concern Debating: Our Senior and Junior Concern debating teams were in action this week. We had great news to hear that the Junior debating team won their debate and the Senior debating team still await the result of their debate. Well done to both teams on competing in the competition and to their mentors Mr. Smyth and Ms. Hanlon for their work with both teams.

Senior Camogie: Unfortunately our Senior Camogie Team were beaten in the All Ireland Semi Final by a very strong St Marys side on Saturday last as they made the long trip up to Ballymena. The girls played against a strong wind in the first half and battled well but could not capitalise on the advantage of the wind in the second half. We are so proud of everything this team have achieved over the years here in St Josephs.

Leinster Cross Country Finals: We wish the best of luck to our First Year team in the Leinster Cross Country Finals that are being held this week in the Phoenix park. This team have already won the west Leinster competition so we now hope they can take the next step and win the Leinster Finals.

Transition Year Subject options Talk: Following the mid-term break we will begin the process for subject options choice for the Leaving Certificate with Transition Year students. An information letter was sent out to all Parents /Guardians of Transition Years last week via the school App. The students will have their subject options talk in school on the 23rd of February via zoom. A Parents Information Evening will be held on Tuesday February 28th at 7.30pm by Zoom (link will be sent through app on Tuesday February 28th).
