Daily Student Announcements

Announcements Tuesday 19th October

  • Please check that Windows in Classrooms are Open
  • This is a message for 5th and 6th Year students. If you put your name down to do the RightCareers4Me programme you are asked to bring in the money to your respective guidance counsellor by Wednesday 20th at the latest.
  • The student council will be outside the library every day at lunchtime. Drop by and guess how many sweets are in the box.
  • To celebrate Maths Week the following competitions are taking place:
    1. The 'Daily Maths Riddle' competition whereby the student with the most correct answers by Friday will win a €25 gift voucher for Liffey Valley Shopping Centre.
    Tuesday's Riddle is:
    I am four times as old as my daughter. In 20 years’ time I shall be twice as old as her. How old are we now?
    Please note: Monday's riddle is still open for submissions and can be viewed on the Digi Screens.
    Please post your solutions (with your name and base class clearly labelled) into the relevant box located beside the Ms. Bligh's Office.
    2. The 'Maths in our World' photo competition will also take place whereby the photo that best depicts the relevance of Maths in our day-to-day lives will win a €25 Liffey Valley gift voucher.
    All entries should be submitted by Thursday 6pm via the Google Classroom code tn4uve6.
    Again, please make sure your entry is clearly labelled with your name and base class.

Monday's announcements

  • Well done to Emma Tobin Rehill and Nina O'Connor who represented St.Josephs in the Combined Events Athletics Competition in Abbottstown on Saturday!
  • This is an announcement for 6th Year students. A talk on a career in Social Work will take place this Thursday at 12:20 pm. If you would like to attend please put your name down on the google sheet that Ms Donohue shared with you.

Today's riddle is: 'There is a three digit number. The second is four times as big as the third number, while the first is three less than the second digit. What is the number?' Please post your solutions (with your name and base class clearly labelled) into the relevant box located beside the Library.
