Camogie: Huge congratulations to our senior camogie team who were victorious in the senior a Dublin camogie championship final on Friday last against Mount Sackville on a score line of 2-08 to 0-7 points. This was a fantastic victory for this group who lost out in last year’s final against Fridays opposition. This is one of the most talented groups of camogie players we have had in the school and the 6th years will leave having won the minor, junior and senior camogie championships over their 6 years in St Josephs which is a fantastic achievement.3c797d8d-7107-4435-bca0-bc751dba0a1a.JPG

Concern Debating: Huge Congratulations to our Senior Concern Debaters for reaching the last 32 of this year's All Ireland Debating Competition. Once again, this is a wonderful achievement by this group of committed debaters. Well done to Mr. Smyth also for all his hard work with this group. We wish them well with the next round of the competition.

Entrance exam: On Saturday the 28January we welcome our incoming First Year students to St Josephs to do their entrance assessment, no preparation is required for this assessment and we look forward to seeing you all on the day.

2nd Year Parent Teacher Meeting: We held our 2nd year Parent Teacher Meeting on Tuesday last; it was great to meet with all the parents to discuss students’ progress since the start of 2nd year.

Taize Prayer Service: Our 6th year students took part in the Taize Prayer service on Wednesday prior to the commencement of their Mock examinations. This annual tradition is an important day in our school calendar. A huge Thank you to the Religion Department for all of their work in organising this service and to Fr. Tom for allowing the use of the Church for this service.

Mock Exams: Best of Luck to our 3rd and 6th year students who begin their Mock Exams this week, the exams will run in the school from the 26 January until the 10 February 2023.

Transition Year: Our Transition Years are doing work placement over the next two weeks; this is great experience for the students to get and insight into the world of work. We would like to Thank all of the businesses and organisations who have opened up their doors to allow our students to have this invaluable experience.

Cross Country: Best of Luck to our Students who are taking part in the West Leinster Cross Country competition this week.

5th Year Ice Skating: On Friday our 5th year students are travelling to Dundrum Town centre to enjoy a day out at Dundrum on Ice. We wish them well and hope they have an enjoyable day.

Junior Cert Chill Out: On Friday our 3rd year students are being treated to a chill out day prior to the commencement of their mock examinations the following week. This involves the students voting on their preferred movie and watching it in their base classes. There will even be a sweet shop for them to enjoy with popcorn. This is a great treat for the group prior to their examinations. This was organised fully by Ms. Wards Future leaders event management class, who are putting their new found skills into practice.

Practice Hike: Well done to all the Transition Year Students and the 5th Year Students who took part in the Gaisce practice hike on Saturday last. They did excellently to hike to Djouce Mountain in what was challenging conditions.
