No Limits

"As part of our TY programme we are able to take part in the Student Enterprise Awards. The idea of Student Enterprise is to set up your own business. You must come up with an idea that's unique and innovating. When you set up a business you must take part in the schools Enterprise Final. In order to qualify for the South Dublin Regional Final you must come in the top 5 in the school final. Then if you receive first place in Regional Final for South Dublin you go onto the National Final that take place in Croke Park.

Three girls and I set up a business called 'No Limits'. We wrote two fairy-tales with the main character having a disability or special need. we wrote 'Wonder wheels' and 'Anna's amazing Aura'. Wonder Wheels is about a boy named Sam who is a superhero in a wheelchair and Anna's Amazing Aura is about a girl named Anna who is a mermaid with epilepsy. We wanted to show that everybody has their own talents no matter what. We entered the Student Enterprise awards and had to write a 20 page report about the business. In the school enterprise final we came joint first and won best business report, we were absolutely thrilled and couldn't wait until the Regional Final. The Regional's took place in IT Tallaght, we set up a stand displaying our business and our books. We had to speak to two judges for two minutes each, it was extremely nerve wrecking. At the end of the day the results were announced the nerves were building up and our confidence on winning were quite low as there were a lot of amazing ideas. It was the last award, the overall winner who would then go onto Nationals at Croke Park. 'No Limits' was announced as the overall winners, we couldn't believe it, it was like a massive dream and by far the best day of our life. We are now preparing for Nationals on May 3rd. We are hoping to continue our success".
